I do not now the brand of the first set of brake pads on my leonardo. It was not possible to see it on their backs when they was changed. But since then I have tried a few brands - Braking, Ferodo, Lucas and SBS. I have also heard Carbone Loraine being praised, but I have not tried them myself. My favorite is the ones from Lucas. They have a good grip and last ok.
Note: The Leo 250 and maybe also the 1999- 125/150 have different front brake caliper and uses different brake pads from the older ones.

| Ferodo | Hovedstadens Scootercenter [DK] | The grip is very good but I can wear them down in 3000km. | |||

Joachim Mayer:"By dry roads they are a bit better than the original but not completely as good in the wet." Detlef Müller:" The last longer than the original (last 5000km) and I find them as good as the original" |

| Lucas | Louis [D] | 32,90 dm | MCB 644 | MCB 674 | I've used several pairs of them so far and the perform ok, and last much longer than the ones from Ferodo. (The order numbers from Louis are 10044190 and 10044189) |

Hovedstadens Scootercenter sells them, and I've used one set of them. They bite much like Lukas pads (marginally weaker). But unfortunately the rear set was not worn down equally, so they had to be changed after 4000km. I changed the front after 6000km and they could have lasted another 2000km. | |
| Carbone Lorraine | Alpha Technik [D] | Highly recommended in many places. i.e. Roller Spezial. | |||
In the autumm of 1999 I was looking for a new front disc. I forgot my disc lock, and damaged the front disc (It was not braking evenly). First I changed the pads, to be sure that the disc was damaged. Sure of the damage I then again looked in the catalog from Scooter Center Köln for alternatives to the original disc. They sell different brands (i.e. from Braking, EBC), and listed the ones below for the Leo.

| (279,00 dm) | Oversize front disc 250/60 (OOKII37) incl. brake pads and adapter plate. 14 days after they confirmed the price and i ordered it, I pressed for a delivery time. This time the told me that it was not available for the Leonardo anyway!!!"#"# |

Aprilia front disc, code 8113541 From ZMG, Germany the disc is 35% cheaper than in Denmark ... The disc is 4mm from new and after 18000km mine was worn down to 3.3mm. The limit for wear is 3mm so it could have lasted until ~26000km if I had'nt forgot the disc lock. |
