I don't know how long a front disc can last, because the times I've replaced the disc, it has not been because of wear ...
| Disc | Mileage | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Aprilia | 18091km | The disc was 4mm from new and after 18000km mine was worn down to 3.3mm. The limit for wear is 3mm so it could have lasted until ~26000km if I had'nt forgot the disc lock. |
| Braking AP16FI | 20589km | This disc was also ruined by the disc lock, but this times it was thieves that broke off the Abus Buffo disc lock and bend the disc in the process |
| Braking AP16FI | Running | My third front disc - Hope that I'll get to wear out this one... |
They don't last long - at least not when I'm riding. My favroite pads are still the ones from Lucas.
| Pad | Mileage | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Aprilia | 4789km | Worn down to the metal and a bit beyond ... |
| Ferodo | 1142km | Changed in workshop even though, there were less than half worn |
| Ferodo | 4239km | The Ferodo pads does not last long if you drive a bit a hard ... |
| Lucas | 5670km | Lost a piece of the pad, there was more than 1mm left. (See the picture in the diary) |
| Lucas | 2251km | Changed at 18000km service, since I got front disc changed. |
| SBS | 5935km | When I had the front changed they still had almost half its thickness, but the grip of the sbs is a bit on the low side. |
| Ferodo 887 | 5701km | Almost worn down to the metal (~0,25mm left) but there was a hole in one of the. When the pads are manufactored the brake disc is cast onto a metal plate with one or more holes. On the Ferodo pad it is one hole in the middle. On one of the pads the preasure has been to high and the pad pressed trough the metal plate. |
| Lucas | 4723km | They were all gone. |
| Ferodo | 4230km | Still a bit left but I replaced it along with the brake disc |
| Braking | Running | |
| Average | 4298km |
