Here I plan to put a few pictures that won't fit anywhere else on the site (or fits in a place not constructed yet).

The caption for the pictures are "hidden" as ALT tags. If you are using a relatively new browser then just move you pointer on top of the pictures to see it.

1980 Suzuki K50D

My first motorized wheels was a old Suzuki K50D. I think it was from 1980 (or there about) and I bought it in 1987 (have to be 16 to ride a moped here). As a moped it was (supposed to be) restricted to 1ps and 30 km/h. But most of the time it ran a bit better ... I had it for a couple of years and in that "period" I even managed to get a ticket for pulling a trailer behind it. Sorry no pictures of that ...
My sister Line (age 10) trying the size of the K50. She could not reach the ground. (Yes, it was leaking oil)

1997 Peugeot Speedfight 50AC

Then I managed to get around on bicycle until spring of 1997. Then I got a Peugeot Speedfight 50AC which I had for a year and a half and 7500km (I bought it for 16995kr and got only 11250kr for it, but Peugeot had also lowered the "new" price to 15995kr). The picture is from the summer of 1998.

1999 Honda Varadero

I was working in Bünde in Germany (near Bielefield) in the beginning of August 1999. One weekend I decided to rent a bike. From an earlier work period in Bünde I knew that I could rent one from the local Honda dealer. So I called and made a reservation for a Honda Transalp (Restricted to 34PS). I had never ridden that kind of bike before and was wondering how it handled compared to my scooter. I'm 1.95m and the enduro style bikes gives enough space, and you sit high and have a good view of the traffic.

But when I arrived at just after 12:00 on Saturday the only Transalp had broken the speedo cable :( I could of course just choose another one - I then looked around and saw a Honda Varadero. I did not know the bike, but it looked a bit like the Transalp - so why not. Wow what a surprise. Before I did not know that a bike with close to 100PS can be so easy to ride. I thought that such bikes all were hysteric racers....

A friend of mine - Henning Olsen - just dropped by from Esbjerg, Denmark. He was on his way south to see the full eclipse, but did not make it. But that is another story.

But I worked all Saturday so I did not have a chance to enjoy it before Sunday. The Sunday was mostly dry, and we went for a 300km ride just following other riders out for a Sunday spin. I did not test its top speed, but it is awesome fast up to 180km/t (on a small country road) ...

I had to return it Monday before 18:00 and I was working all day Monday, but it was raining anyway - but on to the pictures.

Honda Varadeo parked in front of Hotel Entenhof. Btw. I had also rented the Fiat Marea 1.6 which is parked just behind the Honda Another picture of me and the Honda Varadeo. This one on Hotel Entenhof's parking lot Sitting on a small cafe drinking coffee/tee and looking at a map, eventhough the waiter suggested that we should have double tequila's (around 10:30 on a sunday morning) Me on the Varadero somewhere in Germany Back at Hotel Entenhof again - we found the way with only minor detours

1999 / 2000 Leo

A late night oil check A late night oil check. I had to be working in Silkeborg (320km away) the next day, so I had to get up early. And I like to check the oil regularly, just to be sure...
Me and my Leo - Jette did'nt want to be on it, so she took the picture The picture is with Øresund in the background hallways between Copenhagen and Helsingør. I got my best mileage so far on this 100km trip along the eastern coast of Sjælland to Helsingør and back (25km/l and Jette was passenger). One of my colleagues had entered the Helsingør Marathon, so it was a good excuse for a ride. He finished in ~2:55 ). The sped limit varies from 50 km/h to 70 km/h and there is always a lot of traffic, so since I was riding with a passenger, I just took it easy and followed the traffic (most of the time anyway).
A normal cold morning with frost First snow of the winter on 5. december 1999 (Almost - It was the first snow while I had a camera within reach and most of it melted during the day).
A normal cold february morning with ice on the scooter It was still very cold in the morning in the end of February. The temperature was around -5&degC in the morning (~8:00) which is normal for that time of year. You can see the ice on screen, seat and luggage box. I normally leave my helmet and gloves in the luggage box for the night, but this time of the year I then freeze my fingers on the way to work. You can't avoid a bit of moisture in the gloves, and when that freezes, they gloves are very cold to wear...
The leonardo is _not_ made for deep snow The Leonardo is _not_ made for deep snow on a forest track :) I just took a small detour on a gravel road (20000312), but with 10cm snow it was a bit exciting, so I kept the speed below 50 km/h.

2000 Bakken (30/3)

Bakken is situated 15km north of Copenhagen and is one of the world oldest amusements parks. Its roots can be traced back to 1583.

It is closed during the winter and it has been a tradition since the sixties that motorcycle riders meets on Nørrebrogade and rides up there when it opens. (It has also become a tradition to ride up there on the last day of their season)

The first time I have showed up for this was for the closing last autumn. This spring I was with Jens Erik and Anette Bech on a Leo and Keld Rasmussen on his Speedfight 100.

Last year someone (Sorry can't remember your name) made some plastic, plates advertising the Usenet group "dk.fritid.motorcykel". The picture shows the plate on Reno's official police motorcycle, and yes he is a frequent participant on the sent - He knows all the rules ... (I have a plate my Leo as well).

The second is Jens Erik and Anette on their Leo in Nørrebrogade, while the third, fourth and fifth just show many people and motorcycles. The sixth shows me and my Leo while the seventh again shows Jens Erik and Anette and you can just see Keld and he's Speedfight in the right side of the picture.

The official number of participants was 5000 motorcycles which parked near Bakken, but many more was in the cortege or just in or around the route from Nørrebrogade to Bakken

My new Giannelli exhaust My new Giannelli exhaust [2]
24/5-2000 I have just received my new exhaust (Gianelli Freeway) from ZMG motorsport and I had Hovedstadens Scootercenter put it on for me. The used almost an hour for exchanging them. I guess that the bolts most have been very rusty ...
It is hard to judge if the Gianelli Exhaust makes a difference in performance, without having anything to measure it by. But I think that it might have given a bit better acceleration and maybe also one or two km/h extra in top speed.
The sound is not loud. I don't think that it makes much more noise than the original exhaust (It makes less noise than my defect one that rattles). A side by side comparison with a stock leo will tell - have to do that sometime. But the sound is more deep.

4 men by the ocean - Sculpture / landmark in Esbjerg I've been in Esbjerg for a few days. Its around 300km each way and I've ridden ~250km along the coast while there. The pictures show Esbjerg's new landmark - four men by the ocean. If you arrive to Esbjerg by boat, these sculptures will welcome you. The first picture is off all 4 men, while the second is a closeup of me and my leo.
4 men by the ocean - Close up, so i can be recognized :)
2 leo's in front of the nuclear power plant Barcebäck. On the small picture you can se Jens Erik, Anette and my wife Jette looking at the map Jens Erik Bech suggested a ride on 17/6 to see the cathedral in Lund. It is in Sweden now but it was built when that part of Sweden belonged to Denmark. On the way there we passed Barcebäck which is a nuclear power plant (How nice of the Swedes to place it 19km from the danish capital Copenhagen - but they are close to shutting it down.) The picture is from a break there. I have written a bit more in the diary.
Not a happy sight - Leo on the back of a recovery truck Breakdown on 26/6 - read more in the diary.

Winter 2000/2001

Broken Windscreen Broken Windscreen New Windscreen
My scooter was tipped by the wind just before Christmas and that cost me a new windscreen (and some scratches)
Waiting for the ferry at 8 am on 17/2-2001 How too tie down a Leo on a ferry
First waiting for the ferry and then a picture showing how I tie down the leo. Mols Linien's catamaran ferry's goes 45 knot so the beltis necessary. More about the trip in the diary.
By the end of march the weather was still cold and we even got some snow again ;-) but by the beginning of may the spring was beginning to show
